I often see claims of natural beauty products doing all kinds of amazing things on Pinterest. Since they are cheaper (and better for you) than store bought beauty products, I’ve tried a lot of them. Some of them really do work. And some, not so much.
Below, I’ve listed my favorite natural beauty products that actually do what people claim they do!

#1: Lavender essential oil- Grows eyelashes and Improves skin.
I know it’s hard to believe that your eyelashes can grow just from lavender oil, but it’s true. One day I heard a claim that putting lavender oil in your mascara helps your lashes grow. They said it had to do with microscopic mites that live on your hair blah, blah, blah… who cares?! I only want to know if it works.
So I decided to try putting lavender essential oil in my moisturizer to see if I could get lashes to grow in a gap I’ve always had in my lower lash line. And guess what… they did! I now no longer have that gap in my lower lashes and my eyelashes are a little bit longer! As a bonus, my skin tone became more even and the redness around my nose lessened.
*I’ve tried DoTerra, Mountain Rose Herbs, Now, and Plant Therapy essential oils. All brands work. Right now I am buying Plant Therapy oils off Amazon.com because you get more for less. You also get free shipping with amazon prime.
#2: Tea Tree oil (melaleuca essential oil)- Gets Rid of Acne and dark spots.
Tea Tree oil really is magical. There are numerous health and healing benefits it provides as well as the beauty benefits. It’s something every women should have in her cupboard. When I started adding it to my moisturizer in the morning and at night, my skin dramatically improved. I saw fewer breakouts, more even skin tone, and it even helped get rid of dark spots and scars.
At one point I found what I believed to be a Liver Spot on my hand (I’m way too young for that, but I swear that’s what it looked like). So I put tea tree oil in my sunscreen every day. I don’t remember how long it took (a month or two?), but eventually that spot was gone! Whatever problems you are having with your skin, tea tree oil can probably help.
* Plant Therapy Tea Tree oil on Amazon.com.
#3: Coconut oil- Amazing moisturizer and shaving cream.
I’m one of the few people in the world that hates coconut. The taste is bad enough, but the SMELL is gag worthy to me. Most people love this smell. But when I tried it as a shaving cream one day, I was fighting vomiting. So why is it on my list? Because it works! My legs were so smooth after shaving with this. I have super sensitive skin when it comes to shaving and this is the only thing I can use that I know won’t give me a rash.
After using it long enough, I got used to the smell and it no longer bothers me. I even started using it as my face moisturizer. It works better than anything else I’ve tried (I’ve tried a lot). I add my lavender and tea tree oils to the mix and now I actually enjoy the smell. Plus, now that I have a moisturizer that is strong enough to combat the dry Las Vegas weather, I have fewer wrinkles!
*Use organic, unrefined, and cold pressed oil. You can buy it at your local grocery store, or you can buy it here.
#4: ACV + Honey + Baking Soda- Prevents and gets rid of Acne and Improves skin.
I came across this face washing method from a very talented blogger at crunchybetty.com. Her method involves using honey and baking soda to wash your face and following it with apple cider vinegar as a toner. I cannot tell you enough how good this method is. It changed my skin completely. I had the worst skin before. But when I use this method consistently, my skin looks amazing. Try it for a week and I promise you won’t be sorry. Check out that method Here.
*Make sure you use raw, unfiltered honey and apple cider vinegar.
#5: Dead Sea Mud Mask- Clears Acne, reduces appearance of pores, cleans skin deep.
I bought this product while browsing on amazon.com. I was looking for a good face mask and this one was inexpensive and had great reviews. It’s made with Dead Sea mud from Israel and other natural oils and extracts. I love how creamy it is and how good my skin feels after. It really does make my pores shrink, clears any acne, and deep cleans my skin. My skin looks so much better after using it that I almost feel like I don’t need make-up (almost…).
*You can buy this here: THE BEST Dead Sea Mud Mask, 250g/ 8.8 fl. oz. from amazon.com. Not sure where else it’s sold.
